Your bedroom or your bed space is one very important space in your home. Let’s just agree that there’s a lot of rest and reading and pleasure and fabulousity in the bedroom. You sleep in that room, you read from that room, you dress from that room and do a whole lot of things from that room, things that refresh you and make you look forward to getting back home. So that same space should reflect your personality and what you love. I love neutrals so when I got a chance to work with a client that feels the same way I went all out with hues of brown and grey.
Brown being our dominant color, I selected a walnut bed for this bedroom. It’s a queen size bed with two beautiful side cabinets with metallic knobs; absolutely beautiful. Loved the look and as soon as I dressed the bed with grey bedding that was it. Half of my work was done; the bed was giving this luxury hotel vibes.
- Bedside cabinets
You can never go wrong with metallic. The walnut bed came with the two lovely bedside cabinets. They have this silver matte metallic knob that also gives a luxe look. Match made in heaven.
- Champagne Gold
I love, love, love the curtains. Champagne never disappoints. I wanted a pop of shimmer in this bedroom and a perfect combination of matte walls and glossy curtains brought that out.
Painting is the simplest way of decorating. I went with brown paint for the accent wall; painting an accent wall updates your room immediately. It highlights the bedroom and gives it a new style. All hail to color brown.
- Statement mirror
‘It’s not complete if it doesn’t have a statement accessory.’ said Beatrice. It only takes you and the accessory you like to change a room from plain to lovely. Painting the walls will make a difference, getting an accessory for the wall will make the difference. I was deliberating on working with a mirror or a nature wall art because brown is an earth tone color but I chose to work with a mirror because I wanted a modern look. Best. Decision. Ever. That mirror was made for that bedroom.
You know I love my copper interiors; a copper light fixture is the perfect finish for a neutral bedroom. It gives the room a chic finish.
Hugs & Kisses,
‘Make it a cool yet fun room’, said the client. This project was a show house of a property development that is for sale. Creating a beautiful space that would speak to the buyers and their children was the goal. Kids bedrooms are meant to be playful and colorful and lovely and fun and fabulous and cool and I could go and on. Point is they are meant to give you the fun vibes every time you walk in there. So before you tell me that bedrooms were are just for comfort think about this, what does my baby like or my babies like? Is it Simba from Lion King, Dora the explorer, Batman, Spider man, Nintendo, cars, nature, the list is long but I’m certain you know what they can’t sleep without watching or singing. Use what they love to inspire the bedroom decor. Here are 7 things I used for this bedroom.

We are talking about the bedroom today, specifically our bed; home of very interesting activities. It’s where most of us sleep in, read from, snooze alarms from, cry in, watch movies in and do a whole lot of exercises on. We need to appreciate our bedrooms and even more our beds; they come through in so many ways. With that said, you’ll find that it’s the one room that’s least decorated. There is that space over your bed that can use a little bit of your fabulous personality. Sometimes the simplest things make the biggest difference so let’s see how you can upgrade your bedroom look.
Organizing your closet is one thing, keeping it organized is another thing, it’s like algebra and calculus on the same exam paper. Jeez! What a stressful thing. So you do your laundry and organize your clothes in your closet pretty well, come day four things are a mess. You are looking for your white top that only looks good in the bra you are wearing that day. After a quick 5 minute search you stop looking for the white top and settle for the brown top which is a bit tight so you’ll have to change your bra to wear the top, you quickly iron your top and dash to work lest you are late for work again. Same thing happens the next morning, meaning the pile is increasing and the mess is getting bigger. I’m I speaking like we’ve known each other forever? It’s okay. Your closet is organized for a maximum of three days and the rest of the days well let’s just say it’s a clothing jungle. That’s about to change; take a look at how to keep your closet organized.
Your bedroom should be the most important room in your home. It’s the most comfortable room anyway. It’s also glamorous thanks to your lovely collection of clothes, a mirror to admire yourself and probably a chest of drawers for storage. It’s one of those rooms that don’t get a lot of decor attention because it’s already so cozy however a room is never too cozy for a little style. Perhaps you are thinking that decorating another room means going back to your pockets for money, not necessarily, you can style up your bedroom for free. Here’s how.
A small bedroom is like a pair of tight pants. The pants are too tight but you still wear them because you don’t have another pair that is that good. Chronicles of a small bedroom, too small for you for sure however you have to live with it until you move to something better. Any space should look great, I mean you don’t let your space limit you from looking fabulous so don’t let the same space limit you from having a great bedroom. There are a couple of things you can do to make your bedroom look bigger and also feel bigger but you don’t just want a bigger space you want a beautiful, fabulous space so have a look at how to achieve this. Remember, fabulousity begins at home.
First of all, no matter how big our closets are we can never say we have enough. We blame our bedrooms for being too small, we blame our closets for being too small but most times we are the ones to blame. Too many things guys, too many things. We have so many clothes, so many shoes, so many bags and so much jewellery and what’s crazy about this is that most people only use half of these things, the other half is to look at or to just know that somewhere in the closet there are tight pants that no longer fit but you still love them. The situation is even worse when you don’t have a closet and you have dozens of bags, clothes and shoes. Closets really help in organization however it doesn’t mean your bed room can’t be neat and lovely without an in-house closet. You can create your own closet in your bedroom. Don’t let those four walls trick you into thinking you can’t. You can and you will. Have a look.
